The best AI visibility tool for CPAs
Quick answer
A business owner no longer searches “CPA near me”. She asks ChatGPT for “a CPA in Austin who works with S-corp owners” or “an accountant who understands short-term rentals”. The right tool asks those questions for you, shows who gets named, and helps you publish the answers in your own name. Sagelyn Pro does that for $48.99 a month. Rank trackers are built for map-pack businesses, brand monitors for national brands, and article tools publish without ever telling you whether a prospect heard your name.

Local Falcon pricing read from localfalcon.com on 6 October 2026; BlogSEO and AutoSEO from their homepages the same day. Otterly, Peec and Profound were reviewed in August 2026 and their prices have not been re-checked, so none are quoted.
Why CPAs are different from a plumber
For a plumber the business is the entity. For a CPA, the person usually is. Prospects ask for someone who understands their situation, and the engines answer with names they can verify: a profile on the firm site, a LinkedIn page that says the same thing, directory listings, and content under that name that shows the expertise. If those four do not agree, or the expertise is nowhere in writing, the engines pick someone whose is.
That also means the questions are about specialties, not geography alone. “CPA for a dental practice”, “accountant who handles multi-state payroll”, “tax planning for a founder selling a business”. A tool that only tracks your firm's name, or only tracks a map grid, misses most of them.
What a firm needs the tool to do
- check_circleAsk specialty questions. The ones your best clients would ask, by niche and by state, not just “CPA Austin”.
- check_circleName who gets recommended instead. Often a national directory or a content-heavy firm elsewhere. Their pages show what the engines wanted to read.
- check_circlePublish under the partner's name. A page that answers “how should an S-corp owner pay themselves” with a byline, a LinkedIn post that says the same, a Business Profile that lists the specialty. Google asks for bylines where a reader would wonder who wrote it; for advice, they always do.
- check_circleMeasure again. Same questions next month, so you see whether the engines started naming you.
How Sagelyn does it
Sagelyn's AI Visibility Manager runs the real questions a customer asks against ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and shows, for each, whether you were recommended, named, used as a source, or absent, and who was named instead. Then the AI Social Media Manager drafts posts, images, carousels and blogs and publishes them to Google Business Profile, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and WordPress once you approve each one, and its Reddit Feed finds the threads where people ask for what you sell and suggests a reply you write in your own words, including LinkedIn personal pages, which for a CPA is the channel that matters. The AI Receptionist reads and triages the inbox, which in tax season is worth the price on its own.
The check runs when you press it, not on a schedule yet, and Copilot is not in the check. The agent tells you exactly what to fix on your website; it does not edit your site for you.
Who should pick which
- check_circleSolo or small firm: Sagelyn Pro. Measurement, LinkedIn and blog publishing, and email triage in one place.
- check_circleRegional firm with marketing staff: Sagelyn for the measurement and publishing, with your team approving; a brand monitor adds little at this size.
- check_circleYou want volume articles: be careful. Generic tax articles are the most duplicated content on the web, and Google's spam policy on scaled content applies. One page under your name that answers a real question beats thirty that do not.
Questions people ask
How does ChatGPT decide which CPA to recommend?
From what it can read and verify: a firm or partner page that answers the question asked, consistent details across the firm site, LinkedIn and directories, reviews, and mentions on sites it trusts. Specialty content under a named person is what most firms are missing.
Does LinkedIn matter for CPAs in AI search?
For professional services the person is the entity, and LinkedIn is where the engines confirm who that person is. Keep the profile consistent with the firm site and post the same expertise there. We have not yet published a citation study for professional services, so we do not quote a number for how often LinkedIn is cited.
What is an AI visibility tool?
Software that asks AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your customers ask, records whether your business is named and who is named instead, and tracks that over time. The better ones also help you change the answer.
Is AI visibility the same as SEO?
It sits on top of SEO. The engines recommend businesses whose websites they can read and that other trusted sites talk about, so the foundations are the same. What is new is measuring and winning the AI answer as well as the blue link.
Can any tool guarantee I get recommended by ChatGPT?
No. Nobody controls what ChatGPT says. What a tool can do is show you where you stand, make the fixes, and show you the answer moving. Anyone promising a position is guessing.
