What do I do when a connection expires?
Click the bell in the header: it lists the connections that need attention and takes you to the reconnect button. LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram expire every couple of months; Google and YouTube renew on their own.
Which connections expire
- LinkedIn — roughly every sixty days. Personal profiles and company Pages alike.
- Facebook and Instagram — roughly every sixty days.
- Google Business Profile and YouTube — Sagelyn renews these in the background. You will rarely see them in the bell.
Reconnect
- When the bell in the header shows a count, click it.
- Each connection that needs attention is listed with a Reconnect button. Click it.
- The platform opens in a new window; sign in and approve, as when you first connected.
- You're back on Connections and the bell clears.
What about posts already scheduled?
They are fine as long as you reconnect before the expiry date. The bell exists so that a scheduled post never fails quietly: if it lights up, reconnect, and everything on the calendar publishes as planned.
Why do connections expire at all?
The platforms decide that, not Sagelyn. LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram issue access that lasts roughly sixty days and then must be granted again by a person. Google Business Profile and YouTube issue access Sagelyn can renew in the background, so those rarely need you.
Will scheduled posts fail while a connection is expired?
A post to an expired platform cannot publish. That is why the bell warns you before expiry rather than after: reconnect when it lights up and nothing scheduled is affected.
Do I lose anything by reconnecting?
No. Reconnecting refreshes access to the same profile or Page. Scheduled posts, history and analytics stay exactly as they were.
