How do I import contacts into GoHighLevel?

Paste a list — or a CSV — into chat with the AI Receptionist, or choose Import Contacts from the + menu. A review card shows every contact parsed; tick the ones you want and press Import. They're written to your GoHighLevel contacts.

This writes to your real CRM. Nothing is written until you press Import on the review card, and only the contacts you've ticked.

Paste the list

In chat with the AI Receptionist, paste a contact list — names and emails or phones, one per line, or the contents of a CSV — or choose + → Import Contacts and paste there. The Receptionist parses it, tidies the formats, removes duplicates within the list, and checks each one against GoHighLevel.

Review before writing

A review card lists every contact it found. Rows with a bad email or phone carry an issue badge and are left unticked; rows that already exist in GoHighLevel are marked. Tick or untick as you like.

Import

Press Import. Each ticked contact is created or updated in your GoHighLevel location. If one fails, it shows a Failed badge with the reason; the rest go through.

Questions

Some rows aren't ticked. Why?

Rows with an invalid email or phone show an issue badge and aren't pre-selected, so a typo doesn't become a bad CRM record. Fix the source and paste again, or tick them anyway.

Will it create duplicates in GoHighLevel?

Contacts already in GoHighLevel are marked on the review card before you import. Importing updates them rather than adding a second copy.

One contact shows Failed.

Each contact is imported individually; a failure on one shows a Failed badge with the reason and doesn't stop the others.

Can I just see my contacts?

Ask: "give me my contacts". The Receptionist returns them as a card rather than a paragraph.
